Default Interesting Indian Weapon for comment

Hi Everyone,
I thougt that some of you may be interested in this weapon. The overall length out of scabbard is 26.5 ins, the recurved wootz blade is 11 ins long x 1 ins wide, the length of the concealed wootz blade is 10.75 ins x 0.375 wide. Both blades are double edged and the whole thing is very well made but there are no marks or inscriptions. It reminds me of a Gajkati but does not appear as heavy bladed. Your comments would be appreciated.
Miguel.

Your weapon seems to be a bhuj, a very nice looking one with a more slender blade that most that I have seen.

The blade looks like it is pattern welded, not wootz.

Hi Estcrh,
That's what I thought. I think that because it is more slender than the normal Bhuj is what appealed to me.

Hi Bandhook,
I am pretty sure that its original as I purchased it around 30 odd years from a respected dealer who is still in business. Thanks for sharing your photos they look great and are what I always thought the Bhuj to be.

Hi Jens,
Thanks for the link. My item is very similar apart from its blade being more slender, makes me wonder whether it was made for a very young man or a female warrior or is that just wishful thinking on my part.

Hi again,
You may well be right I don't have sufficient expertise to differentiate between all the different patterns in the steel, perhaps I should have said watered.
