Default Identification and translation if possible please

Just won this on a local auction site. THIS IS NOT THE ITEM AT PRESENT ON EBAY.
Would appreciate identification of the knife and translation of the cartouche if possible please. The pics are the sellers and I will post better ones when the item arrives.
Regards Stu

Hi Stu
- I know this type of edged arms, I have myself, the "tiny" dagger of the set of 3, which is constituted of
- 1 sword (Pala type)
- 1 khanjar medium size
- 1 khanjar small size

Egyptian Pala - Mamluk-style - end of 18th begining of 19th
for instance (not mine, unfortunately)

the last pic, it's my knife

Dom

ps/translation, little bite later

Thanks Dom. I am assuming that mine is the middle size dagger though until it gets here I do not know the dimensions. Does the khanjar have a particular name, or is it just a khanjar?

Hi Stuart
particular name ...
- "khandjar" Egyptian - as per as "les armes orientales" by Iaroslan Lebedynsky

otherwise, I found the name;

- "Egyptian Palache" but for complete set of 3 items - as per as "Islamic Weapons - Magreib to Moghul" by Anthony C. Tirri

from our side, the translation is in check ... details with pics

all the best, and congratulations for that nice pick up

Default Here at last

Sorry for delay but the mails are real slow these days! After a bit of blade cleaning here is the Egyptian dagger. Some minor damage to hilt top and scabbard but generally not in too bad condition. Only 1 tourquoise missing and all corals are there!
