New Mini Lantaka
K Pasta, Dudes?
Thought I would share my latest trade/acquisition. It is a mini lantaka that is 15.5 inches and 23 inches with the wooden handle. The bands on it are rattan, all with patina. I am not sure if it is Moro or Borneo, unlike my other lantaka that is Moro without question. Rare to have the rattan and bamboo (at bottom) bands on one. Enjoy |

Sweet Jose !!
Wouldn't you just love to put a light charge of black powder in it and give it a voice again ? I know I would .... |

Jose, that is a really neat Lantaka! You even got the wooden arm! BIG congrats!
I would not go more than a light charge IF you fire it at all and certainly not any kind of projectile! |

Looks awesome, and somehow familiar! Fire it???!!...not while I'm around. I hate rattan splinters.
Congrats on a lovely, and true, conversation piece. |

Many thanks friends!
No plans to light - want to keep the "big bang" to a theory. Vandoo - the Moro lantaka is nearly 1/2 the length overall an more elaborate with okir. This one is plainer. What is nice is both have been fired and are correct, not fakes. |

I wanted to bring this thread back up again because I am having problems determining if this is Brunei/Borneo or Moro.
Any help would be of benefit. |
