Recycling a tulwar...
Here is a perfect solution to what was likely a broken sword(note the fullers run off the tip of the blade). This was probably a kirach, and has been converted into a European style hanger.
The quality of the blade and hilt certainly warrant the "recycling". |

Beautiful piece Charles, and well observed....this would seem to be the Indian version of a dirk We do of course know that broken European blades, or in fact cut down blades were used in the katar, so it is not hard to imagine this course being taken as well.
