Can anyone tell me where this hilt form originates from?

Hi Russel,

it is clearly an Indonesian hilt, from a pedang, golok or badik. Would be helpful when you show the complete item.

Regards,

Detlef

Thanks Detlef,

That image is one I found somewhere on the net. I have a knife with a similar handle but different blade on it's way to me now. I don't yet have permission from the seller to use his images. I'll post my own when it arrives.

You have helped me though. Sadly I have few reference books (they are so expensive, but I know I should invest in them), and my state and university libraries have little to offer. I just wanted a head start for my research on this forum.

Thanks again,

Russel
