Hello Carlos,
Let me know if you get tired of it... You should be able to ascertain the hilt material at the breaking surfaces. This somewhat resembles pieces from Timor as shown in van Zonneveld (fig. 272). However, there are also rarely seen Moro hilts: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2820 http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=208 Regards, Kai |

A VERY NICE LOOKING KAMPILIAN OF A UNUSUAL FORM WISH I COULD RUN ACROSS SOMETHING LIKE THAT SOMEDAY. THE HANDLE IS EITHER IVORY OR BONE BUT FROM THE DAMMAGE SHOWN IN THE PICTURES LOOKS A LOT LIKE IVORY. UNFORTUNATELY ITS IMPOSIBLE TO TELL MUCH ABOUT THE AGE OF THE ITEM FROM PICTURES, BUT I WOULD DEFINITELY SAY IT IS NOT MADE RECENTLY FOR TOURISTS. CONGRADULATIONS AND AS KAI SAID IF YOU EVER DECIDE TO GET RID OF IT KEEP US BOTH IN MIND

I'm really curious. The handle looks like wood to me? Nice piece.
