Default Brass Spear

Hello,

Before anything else, Happy Holidays to all!

Sharing with you a spear made of brass (brought home by by Dad). He bought it in Antique.

This is our 2nd spear that is made of brass. The first one was bought by my father in the 80s from one of the non-moro tribes in zamboanga peninsula.

This second spear head was originally owned by the grandfather of the seller. His grandpa lived in Panay island.

Any thoughts/info on this one? why is it made of brass? ceremonial purposes?

The first brass spear that we had was 'presumably' used by a babaylan for tirual purposes.

Thanks in advance for any info/thoughts on this one.

Kind regards,

Yves

Note: the spear head is more or less 10 inches long.

If this is truly bronze/brass, then it is probably for ritual purposes. This would be the first bronze/brass spearhead I've seen.
