Default Shorten hunting sword 18th century

With the help of Jim and Dmitry, completed by some personal searches
I think that I have the "I .D." of that « shorten hunting sword » that I presented here as « Unknown cutlass »
http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=15765
the catalog of Bashford Dean « European Court and Hunting Swords » has been very useful
http://swordlinks.com/courtswords/p29.html
I more or less a date for this cutlass, (see chapter « Hunting Sword » page 17) …
- 1750 probably from Germany (Saxe) with crest and Emir's head (this « sabre » is described as ; « without guard »)
- 1762 probably from France, when I compare the ricasso decor … and « trophy »

the handle seems to be in Hazelnut wood, garnished of 2 metallic pin,
plus one pin in copper, bigger,
an other pin, in suite with the copper, is on the tip of the handle, on the hedge
the handle has also a small metallic pommel (cap)
the handle on both side, has a similar decor

dimensions in cm for this « shorten hunting sword »
total length; 41 cm
handle; 13 cm
blade; 28 cm
blade wideness; 2,75 cm
blade thickness on his back; 0,40 cm

no evidence that it was a guard, but might be removed and amended long time ago …
in spite of, there is a metallic (supposed, may be silver ?) ring « in suite » with the 2 small pins
the ensemble looks coherent, and not too much « fiddle about with » …

the blade on both side, shows talismanic decors, in favor as well as in Germany and France,
anyway, decor very useful to give an estimation of date

the scabbard isn’t original, very average, nevertheless, old and in leather

any comments, suggestions, or complement of information are welcomed

As I originally pointed out Dom, following your observation that this was a shortened blade, I think it was given this distinctive point/profile to serve as a butchering 'knife' part of the hunting trouse or even solo, rather than as a method of dispatch in it's presumably original incarnation as a sword.

Although European in origin, I get the feeling that it's 'second life' might have been 'colonial' whilst retaining it's 'hunting' useage as the modifications look more 'ethnographic' to my eye.

Thanks Atlantia, for your nice words
no doubt about it, this knife is quite European, and certainly never traveled outside Europe
it is highly likely, that it served as cutlass for butchering big game
I'm fully agree with you,
pity that it has been broken, because, it's easy to feel that we are in presence of a edged weapon of "quality",
nevertheless ... with yet some "charms" (in both senses; visual, and talismanic)
best regards
