Tom Joyce organized an exhibition from 22 through August 25,1998 at the University of North Carolina at Asheville with the same name.

On this occasion a small catalogue was published :

Life Force at the Anvil - The Blacksmith's Art from Africa

It deals not only with weaponry, but with all kinds of African metal work. It's interesting.
