Badik for comment/ID....
Hi All forum member,
I got this Badik few weeks back and still need more advise for Identification (specially the origin/style of Silver carved scabbard) thanks in advance, Rama |

Thanks for posting this very nice badik and joining the ranks of active forum members - welcome! I apologize for us being so slow to respond to your first thread; I hope others will chime in as well. Quote:

Hi Kai,
thanks for the comment.... yes, you're right, I got this from one of the "Dutch" auction site the blade are Bugis, from "LUWU" origin/style, with Pamor kalla (Pamor kalam)(eng: PEN) But this type of BADIK spread in almost nusantara archipelago, specially in Java and Sumatra.... and maybe, like you said... the scabbard silver carved has similarity with Sumatra work.
