Beautiful.

I am very much interested in modern bladesmithing, and lately my interests have been in steel production. There is a site for modern bladesmiths to showcase their work, and a section on their forum is dedicated to the production of homemade steel by replicating tatara and crucibles to make Tamahagane and crucible steel from scratch. Very interesting stuff:
