Default Unidentified object.

Hi,
First of all please accept my apologies for hijacking a weapons forum for this but I am stumped. My wife picked this up at an auction as a decorator piece but I'm wondering if anybody knows the actual function of the object. It is 3ft high and about 6ft around at the widest, it stands on three 'lions paw' feet and is hand beaten. It is in two sections. I thought it may be a room heater in that hot coals are put on a metal plate, missing, and it would radiate heat through the apertures either that or an enormous incense burner!!! The general shape indicates to me a possible Middle Eastern origin but possibly for Western consumption who knows? Any help would be great.
Many Thanks,
Norman.

it is an "brasero" is the ancestor of the radiator, works with charcoal
I will come back with more acute information

in fact, "brasero" must be translated by "brazier"
