bj211,
we shall soon be building a large platform to hoist your new-found honorary status onto. your contributions are remarkable and a wonderful asset to this forum. we all have translators that we use (both mechanical and breathing) but i have not seen many as precise and clear as yours. well done! |

bj211,
Let me add my gratitude. Your translation adds a very interesting dimension to the sword and makes the owner/maker's words come alive again. M. |

I'm also a grateful observer of bj211's help...facinating what's being discovered on each of the swords you've translated. Out of curiousity, do you know the cultural meanings of symbols, too, besides script?

mmontoro & MABAGANI ,
Very kind of you guys to here all this gratitude and I must thank you all for your friendly and welcoming gestures. MABAGANI, some general cultural symbols are easy to ID, but some times you see symbols that represent personal stamps, and those needs some further research and good knowledge of the history behind the piece. bj |
