A nice keris pedang. This sheath is a new one on me for Bali sarong. Do you know any more about it?

The wrangka appears to have some age to it in my view. I think the keris is late 19th century. It is 67cm overall in length in the scabbard.

The veneer may be taken from an older sheath, but the rest is quite recent. This isn't a traditional Balinese sheath style. Blade and hilt are old.

The entire gandar could be old, but the atasan of the wrongko is recent, and not Bali, probably done in Surabaya or Jakarta, the craftsman who did the restoration was very likely from Madura.
Keris + hilt, pretty nice. It is near to impossible to guess on the basis of a photo, but that little collar below the uwer might be worth testing for gold. |

Thanks for your comments thus far. Yes It is the lower part of the scabbard and not the atasan that looks older. I will test the uwer fitting for gold too.
