Default 16thC pala katar not

On the surface this could be a 16thC Pala Katar with out the frills of decoration made for combat. It is massive 13.5 inch by 3 inch blade. Weighs in at 2#10 oz. diamond shaped blade tip. lack of rivets was a clue but it see they didn't rivet blades then from other examples i found. it's weight and mass would make the M1 for a foot soldier. There are modern appearing welds showing so is it a repair? likely not but strong evidence of 20th or later century build. Your thoughts and perhaps a word of caution. Steve

It seems modern replica.

To me it even seems to have some arc welds (see arrows).

I concur with Marius, the lines in the blade are somewhat clumsy, the welds, all seems modern work.

I agree, very much a modern replica, falsely aged to appear older & more valuable. On the plus side, it does look fairly well built, so at least it won't fall apart on ya anytime soon (the lack of rivets does seem rather sketchy to me though).
