Default Mandaya knife scabbard for sale

rare mandaya knife scabbard for sale. small chips on the throat. scabbard has an unusual piece of unknown animal skin threaded on the side. skin still has hair on it.

measurement:
length = 8 1/2"
opening measurement:
a) length = 2 1/4"
b) width = 3/16"

Hi Spunjer,

I hope you don't mind me correcting you on this one. I don't think this is a Mandaya sheath.

I believe you are offering an African sheath from the Nkundu tribe in Congo.

Still an nice piece, though.

hi freddy,
wow, the similarity is uncanny! but this particular sheath has been with a mandaya dagger i had a few years ago. the dagger is now long gone tho.
perhaps that explains the animal skin strip with the sheath.

I didn't look at the dimensions of your piece.

But have a look at this pic. You see the similarities ? Especially on the left sheath.

thanks freddy. hence i said perhaps that explains the animal skin strip with the sheath. didn't think twice when i got it.
