Default SUMATRA DAGGER BATAK ? KARO ?

I found this small dagger which has some batak features.
But is it batak ? or karto batak or...

Any suggestions ?

Hello Willem,

intersting knife, it's too bad that the blade is in such poor condition.
The overall appearance gives indead the feeling that it could be a Batak knife (rawit) but the hilt with the monster face remember to Nias handles I've seen before. I think you have something similar in head!?

Hi Detlef,

Yes, some decarations are similar as on a rawit.

But the overal blade shape / handle shape and indeed some kind of creature on top of the handle are all new to me.

It does appear that this item is currently for sale on a Dutch auction site so i am locking this thread until it is resolved/sold/whatever...
