Unusual Indian Dagger Handle
Saw this dagger recently on eBay. The handle has an unusual "attachment" near finial. It seems to be glued, and matching the handle. Any idea what could be the purpose of such feature? A built in smoking pipe?
Also, something does not look right, and my initial thought was mid/late 1900's production, or what one could call "vintage" opposite to "antique", i.e. less than 100 y.o. |

The hilt seems to be made from a bone opium pipe.
