Default Metalwork from India? Help!

I recently bought this small bowl, its about 14cm wide. I cant say for sure exactly how its made, its something like gilt or brassed silver and then some black material as contrast. The seller thought that it might be persian 19th century. I think that it looks more like its from India. I have looked around in my books and online but cant seem to find anything similar. It does not quite resemble Kutch work or bidri ware or anything else I found for that matter.
Anyone out there how knows where this type of metallwork was done?

Regards Peter

It's Thai work.
Raised in silver, then chiseled and nielloed.
Engraved, gilded and finally, polished.
