Question Another Oddball piece for Identification

Hello,
Is anyone familiar with the images that are nailed on to this headless spear / staff? The overall length is 44 1/8" x 1" wide x 5/8" thick. The thin sheet metal cut out pieces appear to be brass and aluminum. At the top of the rectangular shaft is a hole, where some sort of head (possibly a spear point) went. The 8 1/4" spike at the base is thicker at the tip. The wood is heavily patinated from handling, but I don't know anything else about it, other than who used to own it. Does anyone else think Southeast Asia? Does anyone else have any pieces with similar metal cutout symbols like this?

Thanks for any help,
Joe

I have no idea but something in me says Asian. Like Naga? One might think Africa but I do not think so Is the white metal aluminium? Then agian perhaps it is African?
