A new exhibition, Weapons Maketh the Man - Decorative Weapons as Male Adornment will be opened in the ERETZ ISRAEL (The land of Israel) Museum in Tel-Aviv Israel, on April 18 and will last until December 31 2007. The exhibition is based on three big private collection in Israel and focuses on the jewelry aspects of weapons (In Hebrew the name will mean "Jewelry of Man").

New exhibition
The exhibition was opened on April 18. Very nicely set. All items displayed by geographical order. Several special display are focused on specific subjects such as; Comparison of decoration techniques, Intercultural influences, weapons related to women etc. Below are few photos. (My apologies for the quality. They were not taken in optimal conditions):
The display dedicated to Africa: The display dedicated to India: A display showing a sword, teapot, jewelry box, belt buckle and water ewer all from Bukhara, all decorated with the typical Bukharan turquoise mosaics: More and better photos to follow. |
