Default Naga sword?

Hello,

I am sure that you will able to tell we from where is this sword, I guess that it is from the Naga or a neighbouring ethnic group but I am very unsure by this. Also the exact name of this sword would be from great interest for me. It is 68 cm (26.8 inch) complete with a blade lenght from 45,5 cm (17.9)

Like every time many thank's in advance,

Detlef

Thumbs up

THIS DOES LOOK TO BE OF NAGA ORIGINS THOUGH IT IS A LOW END WORKING EXAMPLE NOT FOLLOWING THE TRADITIONAL FORM. THERE ARE NO DOUBT MANY DIFFERENCES IN QUALITY AS WELL AS PRICE MADE AND USED BY THE TRIBES. I SUSPECT THIS IS A NEWER LESS EXPENSIVE WORKING TOOL. SEE THREE EXAMPLES OF A SIMULAR FORM TO THIS SWORD. NOTE THE DIFFERENCES IN THE TRADITIONAL BLADE TIP AND HANDLES. THE FANCY ONE IS FOR PRESENTATION TO PEOPLE OF IMPORTANCE AND THE MOST EXPENSIVE.

Hello Barry,

thank you for reply. That it is more a working tool was clear, maybe it is more an axe as a sword? The patina let guess that it was a lomg time in use. Found this two pictures in older threads. There is some similarity also when the blade tip look different.
