Default An Interesting Turkish Kindjal

I recently picked this up looks Turkish to me and it was confirmed by another learned forum member . it has a nice pattern welded blade 14 inches long with a horn hilt that has a turquoise insert. Comments welcome.

Very nice - some obvious Turkish elements, but I also see some Georgian elements, like the hilt shape and the offset fuller. Is it possible that the turquoise and the scabbard are later to the rest (but still old)?

Regards,
Teodor

Any other kindjalists want to chime in on this one?

I can't add anything, except that the blade is beautiful!

I found a Turkish one with a similar scabbard on Artzi's website and have seen others labeled Turkish with offset fullers

The kindjal arrived the other day and it is real sweet. The blade is differentially heat treated the steel is darker along the edge than the center of the blade. Ariel I see now how one can be seduced by these lovely creations. Oh no something else that I need to start collecting. When will it ever stop!
