Cheers

Imo, the diameter of the socket and coarseness of casting pretty much rule out anything weapon related.

Cheers

The beak of the creature looks too long for a Reichsadler. It looks like a dragon (not that I ever saw one in real life) or a heron/pelican over a crown? The shape of the knob is oddly ”organic” and I could imagine that it may have topped a staff of symbolical significance (tribal hetman chief or herald)? This is pure conjecture.

It is clear that this is a metal object that has been cleaned. The upper part has a cutting edge, and the lower small hole has a corresponding depth and diameter. In all likelihood, this is an arbalest bolt. The fact that it depicts the coat of arms is only giving more status to this subject. If we consider that the object was found in the Crimea, then in all likelihood it relates to the Genoese colonies in the northern Black Sea region, called Gazaria, in the 13th - 15th centuries. Proceeding from this, it is easy to conclude that the coat of arms belongs to the influential aristocratic Doria family, which played an important role in the Genoese republic and spread its influence to the Genoese colony of Cuff and the Trebizond Empire.
