But, why the wall of shame?

What a wonderful assembly of amazingly diverse Philippine weaponry. I truly have a mere 'closet of shame' in comparison. But the title made me think instead of the pride many of the original owners of these artifacts must have felt about their blades within a very different world than we now know and I expect they would be gratified to see these surviving well maintained and displayed. Thank you for sharing.

That was a little inside joke… the wife gets a little testy when the wall gets a new arrival. But in reality I’m grateful to be the caretaker of these testaments to the skill and craftsmanship for the Filipino people. As a student of Kombatan and KI the significance of theses pieces is important to keep treasured in a world that leans toward the future and often neglects the past.

And occasionally you get a new blade that you can feel part of it’s story… somehow I feel like giving them a new home and place to rest, well cared for honors the spirit of those that wielded them and maybe let’s then eat best in turn.

Very beautiful collection, but seems that no Luzon traditional blades nor Lumad ones included, or I totally missed it.

That is a truly remarkable assembly of weapons! I hope you put a night light in there as I hope that you don't sleepily stumble into all of those sharp pointy things in the middle of the night, lol.
On a serious note, do you have any problems with humidity(i.e. rust, etc.)?

So far the blades that have spoken to me are those from the Visayans and the Moro areas. As it takes considerable effort to become educated enough to discern the qualities and characteristics desirable in blades from each region and peoples. I also had the privilege of visiting Mindadao several years ago with my Uncle and one of his teachers. It was from there that my journey down this road of collecting originated. While I have become somewhat familiar with the historic blades from Luzon and the Lumad they haven’t yet made their way into the collection. Maybe one day… need more walls??? Lol

The bathroom in question is fortunately not used for showering very often and the blades are kept well oiled and the wood conditioned. So far no issues… Florida AC is really good at removing the moisture!
