JAMBIYA 19 or 20 TH CENTURY ? need help
I just bought this JAMBIYA and would like to know more about this dagger.
Around 42 cm and with some rest of gold . Any comment on it will be welcome. Cerjak |

Nice one. I think this is a Qajar piece so likely 19th century. The term Jambiya is strictly Yemeni (and parts of what is now KSA) and I think persians used to call these Khanjar

Correct... the right term for this is Khanjar. Very nice piece and likely Qajar as Lofty says.

Nice piece. Being that the blade appears to be in pristine condition, I would suspect late Qajar. So, turn of the 19/20th century

attractive khanjar, as said every body; Indo-Persian dagger, "Qadjar" period this period has been short ... comparatively to Persia history 1st Qadjar has been ruler in the last years of 18th century (1786/1797) last Qadjar has been ruler in 20th century (1909/1925) congratulations, nice catch à + Dom |
