Default Does Anyone Have Access to Period Photos of Peoples with Bullova Axes??

I have never seen a period photo of the native peoples of Chota Nagpur with bullova axes. If you have access to any such photos, please post them here.

Not exactly a "period" photo but it is evidence.

Souras from Orissa.

Charles I am not sure why there are not more photos or at least prints, some of the tribal areas still carry around axes. That whole region was very active as far as rebellions, you would think that there would be more written accounts as well.

Isn't it interesting that there are so many of them around, but so few period pics of them?

Roy, this is the only period pic I have seen of one. Thanks for sharing

It is strange. I have looked for a long time, and as you say, there are not many photos.
Been picking them up for years.
Here are mine.

This is the only image I have been able to find, it is from Egon Freiherr von Eickstedt’s visit to India (November 1926 to April 1929).

Indian man (Khond, Chota Nagpoor/Nagpur) with a bulova axe, from a collection of photographs taken by Egon Freiherr von Eickstedt (10 April 1892 – 20 December 1965) during his first expedition to India from November 1926 to April 1929, where he measured 3771 individuals and took 7441 anthropolgical photographs. A summary of the results was published in 7 reports called "Die Indien-Expedition des Staatlichen Forschungsinstituts für Völkerkunde".
