Seller states sword purchased in Sudan in 1995 and sword is probably not much older than that. Nothing wrong with contemporary swords if they appeal to you so I wouldn't refer to this piece as junk but I think the final price indicates there is not a lot of demand currently for contemporary swords from the Sudan.
