Default Nice Zischagge

I think this is a German made helmet of "Eastern Style",as I saw a another German made helmet with exactly the same rivets, brow and general workmanship style. The side pieces have been replaced at some time but possibly during its working life , as the holes are correctly punched and it too has the same munitions grade armory paint on it .But a clue to its value is that the brass bosses , are either Gold or very heavily Gilted . Its a heavy helmet too , at least double the weight you encounter normal , but not as heavy as a Siege type . Nasal bar may have been replaced , I simply have not had time to really decide yet based on properties.

I would like to see some inside pics as well, close ups on a few of the rivets and cut washers wouldn't hurt. I'm picking up a few flags from the pics there are ie. the nasal bar has no rivet set at the top to keep the bar from sliding out of its bracket when the set screw is loosened ( this may indicate that just the bar has been replaced ), the fit of the top/upper most lame of the tail plates demonstrates a larger curvature than the bowl of the helmet ( the little wings of the plate edge sticking out from the sides in the rear pics ) which may indicate it is either a replacement from a different helmet or from a later date. The last, and this may not be anything but other helmets of this decorative type ( which is normally ascribed to be German although I've seen a few deemed to be Swede ) with the fluted bowls, the peak plate is usually more elaborate, multipointed in a star pattern or punched and filed, as is the finial atop them.
