Omani Dagger for comment
Here some pics from a Omani dagger from a collection I have bought some years ago without knowing a lot about each weapon,I had already post a lot from this collection but still have some for ID .
So I would like to know if it is a good one and also if posible how old it could be. Size is around 60 cm. Any comment on it will be welcome. Cerjak |

Nice one Cerjak, this is not Omani but it is from the southern parts of what is now known as KSA and northern Yemen. It is known as the Sabiki and sometimes called Dharia ( I think this term refers to only the longer examples)

As previously stated not Omani. This is a Dharia dagger from Saudi Arabia, Hijaz/Asir area. The style is called RASHAQ and the blade is BEYD type. Quality looks good and the silver not the thin pressed type seen on modern items of this style. Probably early 20th century. Bani Shahr and Bani Malik tribes.
Nice piece. |
