Default Poincons on a Sabre Briquet.

Hello, does anyone recognize the poincons on this Sabre Briquet hilt?

While I don't have much in resources on French swords, I believe that the star over the 'B' is the poincon for P.Bick, revisier and controleur at Versailles (?) from July 1813 to Sept. 1818.
It seems that while Versailles was producing ornate and high end swords for the cuirassiers etc. they were producing hilts for blades being produced at Klingenthal.

This is at least what I can estimate without Lhoste & Buigne, and of course Aries. Your best bet is to reach Jean Binck who is on facebook I think.

I can't find a match in Petard for these poincons for either Klingenthal or Chatellerault - there are a number of Bs including Bick as mentioned by Jim. The star above - if that is a star - usually indicated the inspector had been promoted to 1st class.

Jean Binck page is at.

and Klingenthal is at:

Hope that helps.

Thank you so much CC! The bit about the star above the initial is key and fascinating to know. Links help too, its been a very long time since hearing much from Jean Binck. Wish he wrote here.
