Default Sumatran sword for comment

I am almost certain that this is Sumatran, but would be happy to hear comments.
It looks as though it is an older blade in new dress.
The hilt appears to be Ivory and the rest is definitely silver.
According to an Algerian guy that I work with the insciption on the scabbard is " I believe there is no God but Allah and Mohammad is his prophet"
that on the hilt is " In the name of Allah, the Benificient, the merciful"

I am not at home and forgot to bring the dimensions with me but it is about 2 1/2 feet long overall.

I'm afraid I can't say anything useful about this piece, other than even if the fittings are a bit newer as you suspect, I think its an exceptionally attractive pedang!

Nice sword Roy.
But not a type/model that I have seen before.
Was there a provenance with it ?

Best regards,
Willem

We don't collect the same kind of weapons, but I do like the quality of the pictures .

Thumbs up Nice Pamor

I believe the pamor of this blade is "adeg", with the virtue of protection against black magic. Below is a photo of adeg pamor. Someone in the Keris forum might have more/different information about the blade.

Gorgeous sword!
