Default Binangon

Hello,

Here is a Filipino Binangon that I recently got from forum member Ward. It's in very good shape and even has the leather scabbard mouth-piece. The handle has lost a piece and is slightly loose. From looking at other examples on the forum, the handle shouldn't prove hard to set and to rebuild. I will clean the brass fittings and the leather piece, and oil the wood. The whole looks quite beautiful.
I'd like to know a bit more about this weapons in terms of approximate time of manufacture.

Well ,seeing as no one else has answered I will hazard a guess and say late 19th to early 20th century. I'm sure that someone with more knowledge will correct me if I'm wrong. It is a shame about the break in the handle. Other than that a very nice piece.

I agree, Robert. Nice wear and "patina" on the scabbard.
