Khanjar
Why do you think it is from Southern India? The makara was as common up North as in the South.
Again. the blade is Khanjar like and I think that the piece is from Northern India, probably Rajasthan. Nidhi |

The decoration on the dagger looks similar to
http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=6979 and http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10833 I believe that this decoration is charachteristic for Lahore, but I need some time to look in the books to prove it |

Well, I've looked in books, and I think, olikara is right about Rajasthan attribution. In 'Splendour des Armes Orientales' and in 'Rites of Power' there are similar daggers. Anyway, it is definitely not from southern India.
(But I still believe, that the arms in my links are from Lahore ) |

Thanks big for your opinions! I did not confirm that it is Southern India. It was my assumption.
