Hi Jens,
Tiya is ca 70 kms south of Addis Ababa. Sagalassos is ancient city in southwestern Turkey. Not a port like other famous big ancient cities - jus a small town cca 100 kms from the coast, in the hills. (Something really phantastic, since it was not port the relics and monuments remained here). Thanks to archeologists you can see layers of settlement from Greek through Roman to Byzantine (far more than thousand years of settlement ...) |

Hi Martin,
Thank you for the explanation. I am sure that one can find very old ruined towns in the Middle East and in India, some known while others are covered in sand or 'hidden' in the jungle. |
