That is an incredibly interesting piece Clockwork! and thank you for posting the photos. It looks like a pretty exciting museum.

I had no idea that these combination weapons came up so early. I am intrigued by what must be a heavy lock mechanism attached to the blade of this sword. I have a hard time imagining how the sword could be effective in its use with this attached and impairing both balance and cutting effectiveness of the blade. I know these combination weapons have been around quite a lot, but were they just novelties, or actually used?

When was the last time you used your 400 blade Swiss Army Knife?

Frankly, I sorta doubt that a military guy with any experience would risk his life by using an awkward weapon.
