Damascus Museum
On my recent trip to Damascus I visited a famous old Damascus House - Azem Palace, and looked at their weapons display/collection. Quite honestly, it was less than one would expect from a famous Damascus Palace, but I am posting some photos in hopes someone will enjoy them. I've heard that the collection in the Damascus political museum is much better, but the cameras are prohibited there. I am going there tomorrow and will take a chance:-)

You mean Brad Davis "frolicking" in prison? Sure, I did
Syrian prison would be a whole different story.... |

I don't think prisons around the world are much different than the ones in Syria. The only difference is in the facade. Methods the authorities are using, whether they are more "civilized" "modernized" or not. Bastinado in Syrian prison or naked prisoners ordered to form a human pyramid in Abou Ghraib, prisons are not much different. The only difference would be, I guess, the lenses through which we are looking to the West or the East.

Hello Alex,
I was there back in 2004. They did have a huge and impressive collection of swords, but unfortunately, they are not well cared for, and the displays are abysmal. |

Let's keep this discussion on the topic of museums, not prisons, please.
