Looks like a Sudanese knife, people the Fur and Nuba.
Take a photo of the butt of the handle. Best regards, Yuri |

Verification Requested
Hi All,
I read somewhere that these knives come from Eritrea and would really like verification of origin plus any other information (dagger name, ethnic group, history, etc) anyone might have. I have three in my collection. Two have straight blades and one has a curved blade. The hilts on mine are composed of stacked horn or bone washers with brass disks between them on the ends and long bone or horn center sections. All three have wood lined brass sheaths. As is shown on the current post the last horn section on each end forms a baselard-like cross guard and pommel. Sincerely, RobT Last edited by RobT; Today at 12:14 AM. Reason: correction |
