1. Restoration of A REAL Italian Arditi trench dagger from WW1. For me it is one of THE HOLY GRAILS. It is VERY uncommon to find a knife from 1915 in such a beautiful condition. See me restore this knife with respect.

ABOUT THE WW1 TRENCH DAGGER
I got this dagger donated from one of my Italian subscribers who have seen some of my other World War restorations videos. He told me that this is a Piemonte National Guard knife from around mid 1800 who was shorten down to be effective in the trenches during the battle of WW1.

So this dagger has most likely belonged to an Italian “Arditi” from Royal Italian Army elite special force of World War I. They were the first modern storm troops and they have been defined as "the most feared corps by opposing armies". Italy fought as allied together with Serbia, Russia, France, Britain and the United States against Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire who together formed the Central Powers. For me it feels like I’ve been giving the holy grail. Thank you so much.

This knife came from the Piemonte Region, capital of Turin, Northern Italy

Here in Italy during WWI, they had shortened the sabers by creating these daggers, used by the "Arditi" (great-grandparents of the current Incursori), they jumped the trench to engage in the hand-to-hand duel, they were trained in the use of this white weapon, they did not fear death , they faced fear with courage in honor of the homeland, for this reason they were so feared, their purpose of victory and honor, was all in sinking this dagger into the flesh of the enemy, therefore friend in your hands you have a piece of history that surely has killed many enemies, currently the current raiders of the Italian Navy and Army possess such sidearms, however the dagger is also supplied to other non-special corps

The name “Arditi” means “Brave”. They were really brave soldiers. However that knife looks like more a National Guard knife, because the trench knife was simpler with a wooden handle (it would have been a shame using that piece in a trench).

ARDITI (brave) was a Italian (regio Esercito) infantry special units. The specialty, made up of autonomous assault departments, was dissolved in 1920. Arditi departments were reconstituted during the Second World War with the activation of the 10th Arditi Regiment. Its military traditions are today kept alive by the * 9th Parachute Regiment Col Moschin ( Folgore incursors). *
The memory is maintained by the fighting association of Arditi d'Italia veterans.
