Dragon sword hilt?

Anyone has any idea what type of blade? Looks like screw in type of blade?

The guard appears to be made with pieces of flat metal stock welded together, and the peg in the hilt matching into the hole in the guard looks like it's made for easy mass assembly. Along with it looking like it might be a threaded tang, I'm thinking this could be a fairly modern fantasy sword hilt, and could have had any sort of blade at all.

The dragon doesn't look quite right to be a sort of kastane, (which has a tapering curved blade) but does give me an Asian feel. But, there are people here far more experienced with the wide variety of swords out there than I am, so hopefully one of them can give this a positive ID as something in particular.

I wonder if this is Indonesian or possibly Malaysian. The bottom of the hilt looks like a European influence, the type I have seen on some Indonesian pieces with Dutch influence.

I know an example of this hilt form (with blade attached) has been discussed here before; perhaps another member will remember.

There is no sign that it is for a 'threaded tang' that I can see. It more likely had a reasonably strong tang with the end protruding thru the pommel and secured by peening over a round 'keeper' or washer. A photo of the opening in the guard as well as one of the opening at the sword end of the grip would be informative one way or the other. Even a crap blade with a stub welded to a threaded rod might have an opening for the teeny stub big enough to be fooled tho.
