A NICE EXAMPLE OF A WEAPON THAT THERE IS LITTLE INFORMATION ON. THE ONE I HAVE IS VERY HEAVY AND WOULD BRING A MAN DOWN AND BREAK BONES OF A MAN ARMORED OR NOT. THEY WOULD ALSO PUT SOME LARGE NICKS IN A SWORD BLADE AND PERHAPS BREAK ONE IF THE SWORDSMAN WAS NOT TOO SKILLED. THEY ARE SLOW DUE TO THEIR WEIGHT BUT GOOD FOR BLOCKING THRUSTING AND STRIKING AS WELL.

nice one, i've heard them called 'sword breakers'. could also be called a bar mace. doubt it would be surviveable if thrust into an armoured enemy's eye, mouth, throat, etc. and the impact against armour, especially appendages, would not do him any good either. may not break a sword unless the sword were improperly heat treated, but could give it a nasty bend.
'cold steel' makes a modern version, and a poly trainer version too. Link to CS video |

I had no idea such a weapon ever existed... not that I am very knowledgeable...
Thank you very much for the photos! I also liked your posting about the Dao sword so... keep posting! PS: Is this mace in your personal collection now, or is it a museum somewhere? |

He was in ancient China, mainly in defense. Can poke, swing, block The most important is due to the official prohibition of private possession of weapons orders, it can effectively avoid the command |
