Cane knife.
Seen this at a thrift store the other day. No idea where it originates from or it's age. the cross section of the blade has a --._ kind of shape if not obvious from the pics.

Cool thanks for the info. I think I'll pass on it. Missing a few bands. looked like possible an end cap is gone as well. And I'm not sure how legal it is to even own where I live.

The Shona people mainly in Zimbabwe and Mozambique some in Zambia. Your piece is probably mid 20th century. Once known as Mashonaland. However as in most areas of Africa different ethnic groups can be found in areas of one peoples dominance.
