Default Odd stabbing weapon

Possibly someone on the forum could identify this oddity. It is a hand forged and heat treated weapon unlike anything I have seen before. Rumor has it that it came out of the South Pacific after WW II, supposedly from a POW camp. It has a bamboo sheath that is lightly inscribed with geometric designs. The overall length in it's sheath is approx. 20". Thanx to all for any info.

There was a post not so long ago, somebody had 3 or 4 of these without the handle. If I remember correctly they are African, congo arrows. One of the clever people might be able to bring the thread up. Tim

Default Congo arrows

Tim: Thanks very much for your reply, it sure does look more African than Japanese.
