Most tombak do have a metuk, but not all things with a metuk are tombak.

The pics are of an archaic knife, possibly an early wedung.

I have seen numerous examples of the type of blade under discussion. They seem to be particulary prevalent in East Jawa and the region to the west of Surabaya along the north coast. They are definitely talismans, and in most instances appear to have been produced from older pieces of wesi aji.
