Beware the oceanic club
It could so easily be one of these, other pics are around. Not that they are bad things to have but the price can be a little too hot at times.

THIS IS A INTERESTING CLUB , MOST OF THOSE YOU SEE OF SIMULAR FORM ARE FROM NEW GUINEA. THEY ARE NOT MADE OF THE SAME KIND OF WOOD AS THIS ONE AND ARE USUALLY LARGER CLUBS MADE FOR STRIKING AND THRUSTING RATHER THAN THROWING. THERE ARE A FEW THROWING FORMS IN AUSTRALIA BUT THEY ARE NOT FLAT BUT ROUND AND HEAVY AND POINTED AT ONE END.
I SUPPOSE A SIMPLE CLUB FORM SUCH AS THIS COULD SHOW UP MOST ANYWHERE AND AFRICA HAS MANY CLUB CARRING SOCIETYS SO PERHAPS THE PROVINENCE MAY BE CORRECT ESPECIALLY IF THE WOOD IS INDEED EBONY. PERSONALLY I WOULD NOT CONSIDER THIS TO BE A VERY VALUABLE OR DESIRABLE CLUB SO IT SHOULD NOT COMMAND A HIGH PRICE UNLESS YOU JUST WANT THE PROVENANCE AND ARE SURE ITS GENUINE. THE PROBLEM IS IF THIS SIMPLE CLUB BRINGS A HIGH PRICE DUE TO ITS PROVENANCE THEN ALL SUCH CLUBS NEW AND OLD WILL BE PRICED ACCORDINGLY. |

I just wanted to make a note that some caution might be a good thing especially as there seems to be rather a lot around just lately. I think this one is very handsome. What if the leather was missing?
