Hi Jim,
Is this the kind of thing you are looking for. Length 28 inches blade 23 1/2 inches width at widest 1 7/8 inches. The pommel is weighted and certainly helps the balance. There are traces of black paint/pitch on the guard. If I remember correctly an Indian member I.D. this as the nearest thing he's seen to a Mahratt naval weapon. I bought this many years ago and have never come across anything similar since.
