This is not a keris or kris. Just having a wavy blade is not what determines a keris. A number of key elements are missing from this blade to call it a keris.

I'd agree with Jeff. The pommel is a Lasara (sp?).

I am with Jeff, it's a modern interpretation of a si euli from Nias.
See here: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...highlight=euli & http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...highlight=euli Attached are pics of my antique example, the ferrule is missing. Last edited by Sajen; 6th August 2025 at 05:12 PM. |

In fact these daggers have been discussed here before. I'd totally forgotten them! The less keris like daggers http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=18392 And the very kerislike http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=12154 |

Haha yeah ! Totally forgot it. Brain got foggy. I was thinking western Mindanao in some areas or eastern Indonesia
Obviously nias too 🤣. Got it yesterday night with some other tribal things including some from Mindano. Couldn't miss those big old nias chompers on the carving. Even on the antique ones it's quite a chunky pair of teeth. Comparison |

Hey, yes it's a curious aesthetic on the dagger, the blade is mono steel, no lamination.
The one peice scabbard is the most work in my opinion |
