i have a similar short sword in my collection. The leather sheath is not as fancy as your example, but still nice. The horse head handle seems to be made from horn, in two pieces that are riveted together. Similar brass hand guard. My example says, "El Mosquito" Formado de Mano (Hand Forged) No. 9. No maker name but limited info online indicates that it was made in El Salvador.
