Congrats, Detlef, that's a neat piece!
I can't offer any positive ID - the nice blade is quite special. Also the carved hilt is very nice. I can see why you consider it possibly exhibiting Malay influence. I'd suggest to also have a very close look at the greater Sunda region (including southern Sumatra), too. The scabbard seems to be a later replacement and may not offer much help in placing this piece. Please post some more close-ups when you receive it! Regards, Kai |

Congratulations Detlef! I can't help much with origins of this golok, but it is an impressive piece that i would be more than happy to have in my own collection. Looking forward to more photos when you receive it.

Thank you! ![]() I have received it in the meanwhile and it's a beautiful piece in hand. I am nearly sure that the scabbard is original to the blade. After it has received a little bit of TLC I will post pictures. Regards, Detlef |
