Default how to search on this one?

A straight sword double fuellered double edged blade, somehow excavated, interrupted by the 10 inches. A cut off hilt that had various supports, like knuckle guard, apparent thumb guard, and other hinged device. Some or all parts moveable, judging by the fix up screws. Roman digits, like mounting marks.
Any idea where i can trace this pattern?
Thanks
fernando

Default this sword

hi
It is a French sword.
The blade is shortened.
The branch of guard is broken.
It is a model 1853? 1857? 1872?
